Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team in a Care Home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Cook , you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food preparation and cooking for the care home, ensuring that every meal meets our high standards for the needs of our individuals we care for.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the care homes menu and recipes.
- Assist in the planning and execution of daily meal preparation tasks.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Clean and organize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use.
- Must have a understanding of special dietary requirements and special diets prescribed by health professionals.
- Must be willing to cover annual leave when other cooks are off.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Care home or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a rota basis.

Job role is for 29.5 hours per week but are expected to do more when other cooks on annual leave
We do not offer sponships as we dont have facilities to do so.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
