Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to support early childhood development within our Pre-School setting. The successful candidate will work closely with children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes learning and socialisation. Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Support lead teachers in supervising children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to health and safety policies
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence
- Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment, including organising learning resources and materials
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour
- Support behavioural management strategies in line with nursery policies
- Assist with daily administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and attendance monitoring
Requirements
- QCF Level 3 qualification as minimum
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred, knowledge of the pre-school expansion programme is required
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide children's activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and independently when required
- Genuine passion for childcare, early childhood education, and child development principles
- Ability to engage children through creative play, storytelling, and educational activities
- Organised, outgoing, patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with young children
