About Hoots
Hoots Fringe operate multiple venues and bars across Edinburgh during the Fringe, presenting hundreds of performances to thousands of audience members.
The Role
Our Front of House team are the face of Hoots. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience for artists and audiences from the moment they arrive until they leave.
Key Responsibilities
Audience Experience
● Welcome audiences and provide venue information.● Direct customers to performance spaces, toilets, bars and exits.● Assist audience members with accessibility requirements.● Answer questions about shows, schedules and venue facilities.● Resolve minor customer issues quickly and professionally.
Venue Operations
● Manage audience queues and admissions.● Check tickets and reservations.● Monitor venue capacities.● Assist with audience turnaround between performances.● Ensure performance spaces are ready for admission.● Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas.
Artist Support
● Welcome performers and companies.● Help artists locate dressing rooms and facilities.● Communicate performance timings and venue procedures.● Escalate artist concerns to management where required.
Health & Safety
● Assist with emergency procedures if required.● Maintain clear fire exits and audience routes.● Identify and report hazards.● Support crowd management during busy periods.● Follow all venue safety procedures.
Sales & Promotion
● Encourage donations and Pay What You Can contributions where appropriate.● Promote upcoming shows and venue activities.● Distribute marketing materials.● Support venue merchandise sales where applicable.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
