Job Title: Programme Lead Teacher Training
Hours: 29.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
4 days per week that must include Wednesday and Friday

The ‘Programme Lead Teacher Training’ will be responsible for delivering high quality teacher training provision cross college. This is a key role in developing the teaching practice and pedagogy of college staff and is aligned to our strategic ambitions of the college and is a key part of the TLA Strategy. The ultimate purpose is to raise the standard of teaching, learning and assessment practice so that is positively impacts learner and apprentices experience and outcomes.
The successful candidate will have:
A passion for teaching, learning and assessment and the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- An excellent knowledge and understanding of teaching, learning and assessment pedagogy and current research
- An excellent understanding of teacher training programmes, the curriculum and external scrutiny such as Ofsted ITE inspections.

Key Responsibilities
Design a range of teacher training programmes (including but not limited to the Bath College Excellent Teacher Training Programme (bespoke extended induction programme), Level 3 Award and Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training and Level 5 Learning and Skills Apprenticeship standard) ensuring the design meets DfE and Ofsted expectations.
- Plan and deliver a high-quality teacher training offer and series of programmes that reflect and models best practice. This includes utilising cross college and external experts to enrich the programme where required.
- Assess and mark trainees work, providing high quality feedback which ensures their work improves over time. Track trainees progress to ensure they complete in a timely fashion and in collaboration with the Quality Team and curriculum managers, provide support where required. Ensure that assessed work is moderated and standardised and meets awarding body expectations as a minimum.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLs or equivalent teaching qualification-
At least 5 years’ experience in teaching and/or training roles.

Experience as an advanced practitioner, coach or mentor

Practical experience of classroom management of learners with challenging behaviours

The ability to motivate and inspire staff

Extensive knowledge of TLA and pedagogy and educational research and literature
