We are currently looking for a delivery van driver to join the company on a full time basis working at our Horsham Depot.
We are a local transport company with a workforce of 12 drivers, and have been in the industry for 18 years providing an excellent service to companies.
Applicant’s will require a clean driving licence and a minimum of 10 years driving experience.
This particular role will involve loading and unloading the van, driving to various locations to deliver the goods which will include kitchens, bathrooms, joinery materials etc. You will be working out of a depot in Horsham.
Typical hours are 8am-5pm with the occasional Saturday morning only.
We are looking for efficient, reliable applicants who can use their own initiative.
Customer service skills and time keeping essential.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery van to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products from the van.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or damages.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations is preferred.
