Community Development Support Worker
Auchinleck Community Development Initiative (ACDI) is a community development organisation working to support the regeneration and development of Auchinleck and the surrounding area.
Since 2005, ACDI has delivered a wide range of community activities and services, including employability support, recovery services, youth activities, community events, community cinema and The Knowe Garden Centre. Based at the Boswell Community Centre, our work is guided by our 3-year Development Plan and Action Plans.
We are now looking for a Community Development Support Worker to join our team and play an important role in supporting the delivery and development of ACDI's work.
The Role
You will support ACDI staff to deliver our organisational Development Plan and individual Action Plans, while helping us understand and respond to the needs of our local community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and evaluating community needs.
- Supporting the development, promotion and evaluation of ACDI's engagement work.
- Identifying gaps, opportunities and potential areas for future development.
- Developing relationships with colleagues, community groups and partner organisations.
- Keeping the team informed about relevant issues, trends, policies and opportunities.
- Supporting staff to identify appropriate training and development opportunities.
- Undertaking outreach to engage isolated individuals and connect them with ACDI services.
- Leading ACDI's role in implementing the Community Action Plan.
- Preparing reports for the Development Manager and Board of Directors.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience of community development, engagement, research or a related field.
- The ability to undertake research and evaluate findings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- The ability to manage deadlines, monitor progress and report outcomes.
- The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, community members and partner organisations.
- An understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local communities.
