Midlothian Sure Start is a dynamic, award winning third sector organisation. It offers a quality support service to families with children up to age 12 across Midlothian. Midlothian Sure Start has been in existence since 2001 and employs over 70 members of staff providing a service in Family Learning centres and in the community. EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER / SUPPORT WORKER
Various hours/patterns available
Salary Scale 13-16, £13.45 to £14.18 per hour
(depending on experience and qualifications)
Posts available in Penicuik, Woodburn and Mayfield
The role is to support and assist in the day-to-day running of the Playroom, creating a welcoming environment for parents and children and contributing to each child’s self-development and level of autonomy.
A qualification in childcare or working towards one and a child protection certificate or commitment to undertake one is essential as is experience of working with young children. An understanding of the difficulties experienced by vulnerable families and good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
