As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper & Administrator to become an integral part of our team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while providing general administrative support across the business. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive and able to work independently with excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the company's financial records and bookkeeping systems.
- Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices, payments, receipts and expenses.
- Reconciling bank accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger.
- Preparing payroll journals and reconciling PAYE accounts.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC.
- Managing credit control, including issuing statements, chasing outstanding payments by telephone and email, and maintaining accurate records.
- Processing supplier payments.
- Monitoring company cash flow and producing financial reports when required.
- Managing accounting correspondence and directing enquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Providing general office administration support as required.
- Assisting with data analysis and preparing reports for management.
- Liaising with external accountants and supporting year-end processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' bookkeeping experience.
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures.
- Experience using accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar).
- Good understanding of VAT and payroll processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.
- The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
An AAT qualification (or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
