We are a small, friendly and growing accountancy practice based in Chesterfield, looking for an experienced Payroll Processor / Bookkeeper to join our team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with owner-managed businesses, likes being organised, and is confident dealing with clients in a clear and friendly way.
The role will include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Submitting RTI reports to HMRC
- Managing workplace pension submissions
- Dealing with payroll queries from clients and employees
- Bookkeeping using cloud software such as Xero and QuickBooks
- Preparing and reviewing VAT return information
- Posting bank transactions, reconciling accounts and keeping records up to date
- Supporting the wider team with client records and deadline management
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Bookkeeping experience
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
- Confidence using payroll and cloud accounting software
- A friendly and professional approach with clients
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Experience with BrightPay, Xero, QuickBooks or similar software would be helpful, although training can be provided where needed.
