We particularly encourage applications from Global Majority/UK Minority Ethnic candidates, as these groups are currently underrepresented within our wider workforce. We are committed to creating an environment where every individual can thrive and feel they belong.
Everything we do is rooted in our values. First and foremost, we are Christ-centred. The work that we do is guided by faith and the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and God’s love.
We are bold in fearlessly putting that faith into action to help others and challenge injustice, while also seeking to be compassionate in the way that we want to understand others and offer them meaningful care. We are collaborative in our approach, making time to learn from others and work together to take on UK poverty. And finally, we prioritise being joyful in the face of challenges, because our faith gives us confidence that change is truly possible.

Technology is a vital catalyst in facilitating CAP's essential anti-poverty initiatives. Operating within a mutli-org Salesforce estate, our specialised technology delivery squad plays a pivotal role in adapting to CAP's evolving requirements, crafting solutions, and empowering our staff and partner churches to leverage opportunities within a dynamic technological landscape. Rather than running a basic tracking database, we engineer an interconnected, multi-cloud platform that serves as our core, mission-critical debt solution system, operating under strict FCA regulatory oversight, alongside solutions for HR, donor, volunteer, and partnership management. In line with enterprise software delivery structures, this environment demands a highly disciplined approach to platform sustainability, data security, and continuous innovation.
As Salesforce Administrator, you will play a key role in the declarative engineering, customisation, configuration, and maintenance of our enterprise Salesforce platform. Operating as part of a specialised technology squad, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Solution Architect and Business Analysts, to understand business requirements and translate them into effective, scalable Salesforce solutions. In doing so, you will help defend platform integrity and minimise technical debt through robust configuration standards, least-privilege security models, and sandbox environment management. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to system configuration, and a passion for tech leadership and building forward.
We're dedicated to using our technical expertise to offer robust and innovative solutions to the CAP movement. As CAP undergoes a transformative tech journey, we seek individuals with unwavering passion to envision change beyond the ordinary. We want those who believe in the collective power of the church to uplift people from debt and poverty, turning challenges into opportunities. Our new platform is the key to realising CAP's vision for the UK church to serve those most in need. Let our shared passion for Jesus be the guiding light, transforming not just our systems but people's lives.
Technology Development and Release Manager.
Design, build, and optimise declarative solutions using advanced Flow Builder architecture (utilising sub-flows, fault paths, and orchestrated design patterns) to ensure maximum scalability while preventing CPU timeout and governor limit breaches.
Configure and maintain secure, scalable Salesforce declarative solutions (including Flow Builder, Sharing Architecture, Lightning Pages, and User Management), keeping everything well-documented.
Operate within established architectural boundaries while actively driving continuous platform improvement by recommending configuration enhancements, declarative optimisation (such as Flow refactoring), and the adoption of new Salesforce release features or standard capabilities.
Uphold a declarative-first approach within the squad, collaborating with Developers to ensure standard platform capabilities are fully exhausted before custom code is introduced.
Manage user profiles, permission sets, roles, and sharing settings, acting as a guardian of data security by rigorously following the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP).
Enforce strict security governance across the platform following the PoLP, leveraging permission set groups, muting rules, and restriction rules to systematically phase out legacy profile dependencies.
Ensure regulatory compliance and integrity for configuration on debt help and fundraising systems, strictly adhering to FCA regulatory requirements where needed and agreed quality standards.
Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned user stories, managing deliverables from scoping through to deployment within established architectural frameworks.
Responsible for the quality assurance of your own deliverables, including conducting functional configuration testing, coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), preparing configuration safely for deployment pipelines and managing sandbox lifecycles for stable deployments.
Actively participate in the squad’s source-driven Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) process; safely commit, branch, and deploy declarative metadata via modern CI/CD release tools (e.g. Gearset, Copado) linked to a centralised Git version control repository.
Execute developer sandbox and scratch org lifecycle management, including data masking execution, sandbox data seeding frameworks, and pre/post-refresh configuration validations to preserve testing parity across the deployment pipeline.
Maintain platform health by diagnosing system bugs, performing root-cause analysis on operational issues, and safely executing fixes in sandbox environments.
Implement configuration solutions that simplify workflows and maximise efficiency for all system users, including Local CAP Workers and Support Hub Staff.
Actively contribute to peer configuration reviews, pair-programming sessions, and squad ceremonies, ensuring code/config alignment and shared technical quality.
Actively engage in regular pair and mob administration sessions to collaborate, share knowledge, and rapidly grow your technical capabilities under senior guidance.
Participate in thorough configuration reviews, receiving and applying constructive, growth-oriented feedback to turn peer reviews into valuable learning moments.
Maintain a high standard of configuration quality with low technical debt in Flows and clean, clear documentation.
Regularly achieve target on-time completion rates for committed sprint work, demonstrating a reliable delivery rhythm.
Assist in designing automations that achieve a measurable improvement in the cycle time of critical, high-volume processes.
Ensure assigned configuration security vulnerabilities and platform bugs are triaged and addressed within agreed team SLAs.
Actively participate in pair/mob sessions, work reviews, and technical training sessions to verifiably elevate personal and team capabilities.
Complete a minimum of 9 self-led training sessions and contribute to at least 3 team training sessions annually to stay current on evolving Salesforce technologies.
Maintain a zero-percent regression defect rate introduced into downstream staging or production environments from declarative deployment packages.
Strong foundational knowledge of Salesforce automation suites, profile/permission frameworks, and data tools.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to take business requests and translate them into clean declarative technical designs.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and team members.
High personal reliability, a proactive approach to self-managing tasks, and the ability to work calmly under pressure within a team environment.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams, contributing positively to collaborative meetings and squad alignment.
A minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator, demonstrating a proven ability to manage configurations independently within a complex or fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in core Salesforce administration tools, including Flow Builder, Lightning App Builder, Object Manager, Sharing Settings, and Data Loader.
Understanding of platform governance concepts, sandbox environments, and deployment lifecycles.
Experience or strong willingness to work within a highly regulated environment requiring strict compliance standards.
Proven experience managing declarative configuration within a structured, multi-sandbox Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) pipeline using version control concepts (such as pull requests, conflict resolution, and branch merges).
Certified Salesforce Administrator (ADM-201).
Experience working within a product-led, cross-functional, Agile team using tools like Jira.
Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP, or Experience Cloud.
Exposure to AppExchange release, automation, or integration tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado, Form Assembly).
Charity sector experience, particularly with volunteer-driven operational models.
Experience working collaboratively within a combined administration and development team, as well as working alone.
