Account Executive
Location: Remote with occasional travel into London
Hours: Full time
Contract: One year fixed-term - to August 2027
Job Purpose
The Account Executive is at the heart of our Account Teams and supports the management of the day-to-day activities of client accounts, helping them tell their stories through a variety of mediums. It’s a busy varied role, full of executing on a variety of operational tasks to ensure client work runs smoothly.
Our Account Executives have a keen interest in communications, and the thrill of seeing results – coverage books full, clients happy, influencers onboard. They love seeing our clients’ journey with us from the initial brief to meeting (and exceeding) their objectives. There’s so much variety – no two days are the same.
This role won’t suit you if you hate admin, or if you’re not super adaptable and able to seamlessly juggle multiple tasks, clients, projects, and priorities. You’ll need great time management, as well as the people skills to get stuff done and smooth over ruffles from time to time!
This role has an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a Christian.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll handle anything and everything that keeps our client accounts running smoothly. You’ll act as the daily point of contact for clients, ensure all tasks are allocated within our project software, update contact databases, arrange and circulate meeting agendas, and take meeting notes.
- Media and Social Influencer Relationships
You may start with none, but you’ll actively build and grow relationships with relevant media contacts – both Christian and mainstream, and with social influencers. You’ll need to be creative in learning how you can open doors, gain initial meetings, and then establish trust and rapport.
Sometimes creative – finding angles, seeing the ‘hook’ for a story, drafting press releases and features. Sometimes more administrative - produce contact reports and monthly status and coverage reports.
Clients will know you through your presence and contribution in regular client meetings and will learn to rely on you to get things done and keep the day-to-day running smoothly.
- Contribute to Plans & Strategies
You may be early on in your career in communications and will certainly have lots to learn from our experienced teams! But you’ll have unique perspectives and contributions into our strategies for our clients. As you keep abreast of PR and media trends and tools, your ideas and perspectives will be sought after, as will your desk research and analytical skills.
Skills & Experience
You’ll be juggling, prioritising, planning, re-planning, and responding to multiple stakeholders! You will need to enjoy the buzz and stimulation of constant change, of adapting on the fly, and of lending your superb organisational skills to your team and clients.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert or an extrovert. What matters is that you know how to build great professional relationships, how to understand the emotions behind the words, and how to overcome resistance and hurdles. With strong emotional intelligence and a warm, friendly manner, our clients will gravitate to you.
With a passion for media and social media, you’ll be keen to build on your knowledge and expertise in this area, researching key trends and putting relevant ideas into practice
Accurate, creative, full of ideas, able to spot the ‘hook’ for a story, able to discern what’s important to each client and what will align with their objectives. These are all important in the many and varied ways you’ll use your superb written communication skills in the service of our clients.
Your solid IT and project management will enable you to keep yourself and others on track, to give visibility to priorities, and to organize information effectively.
You’ll bring enthusiasm for learning and career development. Whatever your background, there will be a lot to learn! Our systems and processes, how to navigate the world of Media and PR, how to relate with varied clients, how to understand the charity landscape and the Christian sector with all its nuances and distinctions.
