We are a small, newly established children's home providing residential care for young people aged 6-18 who are cared for by the local authority. Our beautiful 4-bedded home is based on a peaceful farm in Bishop's Lydeard, near Taunton, creating a calm and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
We are fortunate to have built a settled, supportive, and dedicated staff team, and as our service grows, we are looking for 2-3 caring and enthusiastic Residential Support Workers to join us. Whether you have experience in residential childcare or bring transferable skills from another caring profession, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, cared for, and supported to achieve their goals.
You will build trusting relationships, celebrate achievements, provide guidance through challenges, and help create a warm and positive home environment.
Some of Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting young people with their individual needs, goals, and development
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Encouraging participation in education, training, and activities
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting resilience
- Helping young people develop independence and life skills
- Organising fun, engaging, and meaningful activities
- Supporting young people to manage challenges safely and positively
- Working alongside families, social workers, schools, and other professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning
- Contributing to a nurturing and homely environment

Experience and Qualifications
A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. You will need to be willing to work towards your Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People.

Shift Patterns
We offer:
Full-Time
- Average of 35 hours per week
- Includes an average of 2/3 sleep-ins per week
Part-Time and Bank
- Flexible opportunities available

Important Information
This role requires flexibility to work a range of shifts, including:
- Days
- Nights
- Weekends
- Sleep-ins
This flexibility is essential to ensure we can provide consistent support to the young people in our care.
Sleep-In Arrangements
- Sleep-ins are paid separately and are not included within contracted hours
- Any time worked during sleep-in hours will be paid at your normal hourly rate
