About the role
We’re looking for an Executive Researcher to join our Executive Search team at Balfour Beatty. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our leadership population, identifying and engaging senior talent that will drive our growth, performance and long-term transformation.
Working at the heart of strategic hiring, you’ll combine market intelligence, research expertise and relationship-building to uncover exceptional talent across the industry and beyond. You’ll act as a trusted partner to hiring managers, providing valuable insight into talent markets and helping to deliver high-quality, diverse shortlists for critical leadership roles.
This is a unique opportunity to influence senior hiring outcomes, strengthen leadership capability and elevate the candidate experience, while representing Balfour Beatty’s brand with professionalism and credibility throughout every interaction.
The role can be based from any of our key office hubs, including London, Solihull and Warrington, with hybrid working available.
What you'll be doing
- Lead market mapping and research activity to identify and engage senior and hard-to-find talent
- Partner with hiring managers to shape role requirements, target markets and success profiles
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines across core and adjacent industries
- Deliver market insight and intelligence to support strategic hiring decisions
- Conduct screening interviews and develop high-quality candidate shortlists
- Drive an outstanding candidate experience, acting as a brand ambassador throughout
- Track and analyse recruitment data and KPIs to improve search effectiveness
- Support end-to-end executive hiring processes, including documentation and offer preparation
- Coordinate executive recruitment logistics including scheduling, travel and assessments
- Collaborate with resourcing and HR teams to share insight and support wider hiring activity
Who we're looking for
- Experience in executive search or senior-level recruitment, ideally in-house or retained search
- Strong research and sourcing skills, with the ability to identify niche talent
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Naturally curious, with a passion for leadership hiring and talent insights
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ATS/CRM systems
- Experienced in using online sourcing and research tools
- Professional, discreet and committed to high standards of candidate care
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethical recruitment practices
