Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and cooking, with experience working in busy kitchen environments. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently, maintaining consistency and quality
- Support the team in meal assembly and presentation, adhering to portion control guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet service times during busy periods
- Support serving staff when required, ensuring smooth service flow
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in meal preparation and kitchen organisation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous restaurant experience is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is equally valued
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
