Vehicle Preparation & Forecourt Manager

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Vehicle Preparation & Forecourt Manager to take responsibility for vehicles from arrival through preparation, forecourt display and customer handover.
This is a practical, fast-paced role requiring someone with strong motor trade experience who can organise people, vehicles and priorities while maintaining high preparation standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the intake and inspection of all incoming vehicles.
- Identify mechanical, bodywork, cosmetic, tyre, wheel and valeting requirements.
- Plan and prioritise the vehicle preparation cycle.
- Liaise daily with the Sales Team, General Manager, Workshop Manager and Bodyshop Manager.
- Monitor and chase vehicles through workshop, bodyshop, valeting and external repairs.
- Ensure vehicles are prepared and retail-ready as quickly as possible.
- Manage forecourt organisation, vehicle presentation and stock movements.
- Carry out hands-on quality checks on completed vehicles.
- Prioritise sold vehicles according to customer collection/delivery dates.
- Ensure sold vehicles are fully prepared, valeted and ready for customer handover on time.
- Identify delays and bottlenecks and take immediate action to resolve them.
- Maintain accurate vehicle locations and preparation statuses.
What We're Looking For
- Previous motor trade/dealership experience is essential.
- Experience in vehicle preparation, workshop control, forecourt management or used-car operations.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Good understanding of mechanical and cosmetic vehicle preparation.
- Confident managing multiple vehicles and priorities.
- Hands-on approach – this is not a desk-based management role.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.

Vehicle Arrival → Inspection → Workshop/Bodyshop → Preparation → Quality Check → Forecourt → Customer Handover
