Salary Range: £34,000 - £36,000
Contract Type: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Hybrid, London
Hours/Days per week: 35 working hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

The Senior Internal Communications Officer will support the delivery of Felix's internal communications at a critical moment for the charity, following the merger of FareShare and The Felix Project and the launch of the refreshed Felix brand. The role will help colleagues, volunteers, network partners and other internal audiences understand Felix's vision, values, priorities and change journey.
Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, the postholder will plan, create and deliver clear, inclusive and engaging communications across Felix internal channels, ensuring the right people have access to the right information at the right time.
Working with colleagues across External Affairs, Brand Marketing, People, Operations, Income Generation and Network teams, the role will gather audience insight, support two-way communication, maintain trusted channels and uphold high standards of accessibility, accuracy, brand consistency and compliance.
- Deliver internal communications plans, campaigns and content that support organisational priorities, merger integration, the brand and staff, volunteer and partner engagement.

Manage the day-to-day internal communications content calendar and channels, including the intranet, newsletters, email updates, instant messaging, staff briefings, event materials and other digital channels as required.

Write, edit, proofread and publish high-quality content for a range of internal audiences, including articles, leadership messages, scripts, briefings, FAQs, video or podcast copy and operational updates.

Coordinate monthly town halls, staff briefings, listening sessions and other in-person or virtual engagement activities, including agenda planning, speaker briefing, logistics, questions and follow-up actions.

Gather feedback and audience insight from staff, volunteers, network partners and other internal stakeholders, using it to improve channels, messages, timing and engagement approaches.

Advise and support colleagues across Felix on internal communications planning, audience needs, channel selection, tone, message framing and content quality; coach contributors and maintain practical guidance and templates.

Maintain the intranet and other internal information spaces so content is current, engaging, accessible, inclusive, easy to find and aligned to agreed information architecture and ownership.

Support internal communications for change, equity, diversity and inclusion, People, operations and brand priorities, ensuring messaging is consistent with Felix's narrative, values, brand guidelines and key messages.

Monitor analytics, feedback and engagement data; prepare regular performance updates for the Senior Internal Communications Manager and contribute to reporting for the Head of External Affairs and senior leaders.

Manage internal communications enquiries, administration, project tasks, suppliers, occasional volunteers and pro-bono support promptly and professionally, escalating risks and compliance issues when needed.
Your normal duties and responsibilities will be set out in your job description. However, the charity may require you to perform other duties from time to time.

Experience in an internal communications, employee engagement, communications or content role, ideally in a charity, public-facing, operational or geographically dispersed organisation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editing, proofreading, message framing and storytelling ability for different internal audiences.

Experience managing internal channels such as intranets, newsletters, email updates, messaging platforms, briefings, staff events and digital content.

Understanding of audience insight, segmentation, accessibility, inclusive communications, employee voice and two-way engagement.

Experience supporting internal communications during organisational change, culture activity, EDI work, rebrand, merger or transformation.

Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at different levels and translate complex information into clear, timely and useful updates.

Strong planning and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, approvals and stakeholders at pace.

Experience using analytics, feedback and qualitative insight to evaluate communications and recommend improvements.

Confident with digital tools and content formats, including intranet content management, Microsoft 365 or equivalent platforms, basic visual content and event support tools.

Knowledge of brand guidelines, data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality, political neutrality where relevant and compliance considerations for internal communications.
