Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. This role involves preparing a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, customer service, and time management within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to company standards.
- Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene throughout all operations.
- Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately, ensuring correct change is given.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times.
- Manage multiple orders during busy periods whilst maintaining quality standards.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and best practices in food handling.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar serving role is desirable.
- Ability to prepare food and beverages efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management to serve customers promptly during busy periods.
- Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers.
- Ability to work well within a team whilst also demonstrating independence when needed.
