Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality energy and utilities advice alongside administrative support as part of the Community Resilience Hub. The role will help residents reduce household costs, manage energy debt, improve financial resilience, and access essential support services, whilst ensuring efficient service administration and client case handling.
This role is central to preventing and reducing poverty and destitution by addressing fuel poverty and supporting early intervention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Energy Advice & Casework
- Provide 1:1 energy advice to residents on:
- Managing energy bills and usage
- Reducing household energy consumption
- Switching tariffs and understanding billing
- Accessing grants, discounts, and support schemes
- Support clients with energy debt and arrears, including negotiating with suppliers
- Assist with fuel poverty interventions (e.g. priority services registers, energy crisis support)
- Deliver income maximisation support linked to utilities (e.g. benefits checks)
- Provide follow-up casework to ensure issues are resolved
2. Group Work & Community Engagement
- Support the delivery of workshops and group sessions on:
- Employment Barriers
- Attitudes to work
- Confidence building
- Pathways to education, training and employment.
- Engage residents in hard-to-reach communities, including multilingual support
- Work from community venues to improve access and trust
3. Administration & Case Management
- Maintain accurate client records using case management systems
- Collect and log monitoring and evaluation data (KPIs, outcomes, demographics)
- Handle appointments, referrals and enquiries (phone, email, in-person)
- Support service reporting (monthly, quarterly, funder requirements)
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality policies
4. Partnership & Referral Work
- Work collaboratively with Luton Access partners and local services
- Signpost and refer clients to partner organisations as well as collection of feedback.
- Support delivery of a joined-up community advice system
5. Professional Development
· Keep up to date with legislation, case law, policies and procedures relating to the role and service needs.
· A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), including a willingness to develop knowledge and skills in required areas
6. General Duties
- Contribute to a five-day hub service offering consistent local support
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all service delivery
- Participate in training, supervision and team meetings
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role
Pay: From £13,520.00 per year
