Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) to transport goods over short and long distances, adhering strictly to all road safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after journeys.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery notes, logbooks, and route sheets.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse staff to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid Class 1 HGV license.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards for commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, demonstrating reliability in meeting deadlines.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively.
