We’re looking for an experienced and reliable calf rearer to join our well-run 1000-head calf rearing unit in Bideford, North Devon. This role is suited to someone confident in taking responsibility when needed, while also working well as part of a team.
Please note this is not a trainee position, however we do expect to have opportunities available in the coming months for those looking to get into the industry.
The Role:
* Daily feeding, bedding, vaccinating and general care of calves.
* Monitoring calf health and responding to any issues.
* Cleaning and pressure washing pens between batches.
* Supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has good common sense, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
* Is confident working independently and within a team.
* Has experience with farm machinery (telehandler, tractor etc.)
* Takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
* HGV licence a bonus, but not essential
(Training can be provided for equipment such as straw chopper, skid steer)
* Full Car license essential.
Work Pattern:
* 5-day week.
* Includes every other Saturday (with a weekday off in exchange)
