Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Coffee Lounge Assistant to join our energetic team here at Oak Barn.
This permanent role involves providing excellent customer service in a cosy and welcoming environment, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy Coffee Lounge. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and experience in catering or food service, with a focus on creating a positive experience for all visitors in a fast paced coffee lounge.
Duties
- Welcome customers warmly and take their orders efficiently.
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks.
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items meet quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lounge area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout the day.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments in accordance with company procedures.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality by creating a friendly and professional atmosphere for all guests.
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, a neat appearance and a friendly demeanour are essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude towards teamwork and customer satisfaction is vital for success in this role.
Pay: Up to £13.41 per hour
Expected hours: 27.0 – 30.0 per week
