About the Role
Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper, you will assist with the daily maintenance, preparation and presentation of our golf courses to the highest possible standards. You will gain practical experience across all areas of course maintenance, machinery operation, turf management and golf course improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and preparation of the golf courses for daily play.
- Maintain high standards of turf care and course presentation.
- Operate and maintain a range of specialist machinery and equipment.
- Support golf course construction and improvement projects.
- Complete reporting and record-keeping requirements.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, regulations and Club policies.
- Maintain clean, safe and tidy working areas, facilities and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with Greenkeeping, Landscaping, Workshop, Golf Services and wider Golf Operations teams.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Genuine interest in turf management, grounds maintenance or greenkeeping.
- Enrolled on, or willing to continue studying towards, a recognised Greenkeeping or Turf Management qualification (minimum Level 2/NVQ2/QCF or equivalent).
- Working towards relevant machinery operator certificates for ATVs, ride-on mowers and tractors.
Desirable
- Previous experience within grounds maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, horticulture or greenkeeping.
- NPTC pesticide application certificate.
- Experience operating outdoor machinery and equipment.

Working Hours
This role involves early morning starts and working outdoors throughout the year.
The Greenkeeping Team operates a weekend rota, with approximately one weekend in every three worked. Weekend shifts are paid at an enhanced overtime rate of 1.5 times your normal hourly rate, providing additional earning opportunities throughout the year. This can equate to approximately £3k on top of salary.
Due to the Club's location, applicants must hold a valid driving licence and have access to their own transport.
