Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, thorough and experienced cleaner to join our team at a busy dental practice in Palmers Green, North London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice, including clinical surgeries, patient areas, staff areas and communal spaces.
As this is a healthcare environment, attention to detail and maintaining excellent hygiene standards are extremely important.
Previous experience cleaning within a dental practice, medical practice, healthcare setting or other clinical environment would be highly desirable.
Main Duties
- Thorough cleaning of dental surgeries and clinical areas.
- Cleaning and disinfecting work surfaces and appropriate high-touch areas.
- Hoovering and mopping floors throughout the practice.
- Cleaning reception, waiting areas and corridors.
- Cleaning staff rooms, kitchen areas and offices.
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets and washroom facilities.
- Emptying general waste and recycling bins and replacing bin liners.
- Cleaning doors, handles, switches and other high-touch surfaces.
- Dusting and cleaning furniture, skirting boards and other surfaces.
- Maintaining cleanliness of sinks and non-clinical wash areas.
- Restocking cleaning products and consumables where required.
- Following the practice's infection prevention and control procedures.
- Following COSHH and health and safety requirements when using cleaning products.
- Ensuring cleaning equipment is stored safely and appropriately.
- Reporting any damage, maintenance problems, spillages or health and safety concerns to the Practice Manager.
- Completing cleaning checklists where required.
- Maintaining consistently high cleaning standards throughout the practice.
Essential Requirements
- Previous professional cleaning experience.
- Experience working in a commercial or professional environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills.
- Professional and trustworthy.
- Able to follow cleaning schedules, instructions and infection control procedures.
- Comfortable working within a healthcare environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience cleaning a dental practice, GP surgery, hospital, clinic or other healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of COSHH.
- Previous infection control training or experience.
- Experience completing cleaning checklists or working to documented cleaning standards.
