Role Purpose
CMT Group is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the delivery of health, safety and compliance activities across its growing network of UK sites.
This role will provide operational support to the Group Health & Safety Manager, helping to maintain compliance standards, support audits and accreditations, monitor corrective actions and ensure health and safety systems remain effective across the business.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and distribution operations whilst supporting the continued development of ISO management systems and wider compliance programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of health and safety across multiple UK locations
- Conduct workplace inspections and compliance reviews
- Assist with internal audits and support external audit preparation
- Monitor and track corrective actions to completion
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations
- Support the review and maintenance of risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Assist with contractor management and permit-to-work processes
- Monitor training compliance and maintain training records
- Support the administration and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Assist with accreditation requirements including CHAS, Constructionline and Achilles
- Produce compliance reports and management information as required
- Maintain health and safety documentation and records
- Liaise with operational managers to ensure compliance actions are completed
- Support tender submissions and client compliance questionnaires when required
- Undertake site visits throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate or currently working towards
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to build positive working relationships at all levels of the business
Desirable
- Previous experience within a health and safety, compliance or operational role
- Experience within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or construction environments
- Experience supporting audits or inspections
- Knowledge of ISO management systems
- Experience using digital compliance systems
- Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
