Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Head Cook to join our team in our beautiful nursing home situated in the heart of Colwyn Bay. The Head Cook will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and leading the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques
- Keep regular updates of allergens
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Assist in the development of menu items
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain good communication with the management team on changes within the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Manage a kitchen rota for kitchen staff
- Cater for a maximum of 33 patients
-Get to know our residents and their likes/dislikes to ensure they have an enjoyable dining experience
Experience
- Proven experience as a Head Cook or similar role in a nursing home setting is desirable but not essential
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to work well within a team
