We are fortunate to have a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team comprising GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, and administrative staff who work collaboratively to provide the best possible care for our patients.
Due to continued development within our clinical team, we are looking to recruit an experienced Healthcare Assistant who is currently working within a GP practice and is looking for their next opportunity within a progressive, welcoming and supportive environment.

The Role
This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care across a busy and friendly general practice.
You will work closely with our nursing and GP teams, helping to deliver a wide range of clinical services whilst ensuring patients receive an excellent experience every time they visit the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, height and weight measurements
- Performing NHS Health Checks and new patient health assessments
- Supporting chronic disease monitoring clinics, including diabetes and hypertension
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Recording ECGs
- Supporting clinicians with procedures and patient care
- Maintaining accurate and timely patient records using clinical systems
- Ensuring infection prevention and control standards are maintained
- Preparing and stocking clinical rooms
- Contributing positively to the smooth running of clinical services
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is currently working as a Healthcare Assistant within a GP practice
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Demonstrates initiative, sound judgement and strong common sense
- Works well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Remains calm, professional and patient-focused in a busy environment
Essential Requirements
- Current experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in General Practice
- Experience undertaking routine HCA duties including observations and patient assessments
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively using clinical computer systems
Desirable Requirements
- Phlebotomy experience
- ECG experience
- Experience supporting chronic disease monitoring
- Relevant healthcare qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate)
Working Hours
Full / Part time position
Practice opening hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:30. The successful candidate will be expected to work a combination of early and late shifts within these hours.
