Job Overview
We are seeking experienced and reliable Class 2 HIAB Drivers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating flatbed lorries equipped with HIAB cranes, providing essential cover across various delivery routes. Candidates must be flexible in terms of the type of vehicle they are required to drive, which includes a 7.5 tonne van. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence and relevant experience in commercial driving and delivery operations.
Shifts are 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 06:30-15:30, with every other Saturday paid on overtime.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual and automatic Class 2 flatbed lorries fitted with manual or remote HIAB cranes to facilitate the safe loading and unloading of goods
- Deliver building materials to building sites and homes
- Provide relief cover for scheduled drivers, ensuring continuity of delivery services across multiple routes
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on vehicles and lifting equipment, reporting any faults or concerns
- Loading and unloading vehicle and maintaining safety and security of loads at all times
- Assist with the secure loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Deliver goods to various locations in a professional and timely manner, maintaining accurate delivery documentation
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries of building materials and other products within London and surrounding areas.
- Maintain a clean and well-presented vehicle, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Provide customers with the highest level of service while planning and adapting routes
Experience
- clean HGV Class 2 Licence and Digital Tachocard
- valid HIAB Licence and experience
- Multi-drop experience
- Knowledge of building materials and construction site safety
- Physical fitness to load and unload heavy or large goods
- Eligibility to work and live in the UK
