Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 flatbed trucks to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Secure loads properly on flatbed trailers, ensuring safe transit and compliance with weight limits
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption, adjusting as needed for traffic or road conditions
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company on the road
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed trailers and cargo securement
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards relevant to large vehicle operation
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as load securing and vehicle inspections
- Excellent communication skills for clear interactions with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends as needed
