At John Delany Motors, we’re looking for an experienced Vehicle Customer Service & Parts Advisor to join our busy service reception team.
This is a fast-paced, varied and hands-on role where you’ll be the vital link between our customers and technicians. From booking vehicles in, sourcing parts and preparing quotations, to explaining repairs, keeping customers updated and making sure jobs stay on track, you’ll play a key role in keeping the workshop running smoothly and delivering a great customer experience.

About the role
As part of our service reception team, your responsibilities will include:
- Handling customer enquiries and providing advice
- Booking MOTs, services & repairs
- Preparing accurate quotations
- Checking in and handing over vehicles
- Building jobs and ordering the required parts
- Liaising with technicians and keeping workshop jobs on track
- Keeping customers updated on the vehicle’s progress
- Invoicing completed work and taking payments
- Explaining repairs clearly and simply
- Answering the telephone
- Accepting & recording parts deliveries and returns
- Opening and closing the premises when required
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who understands vehicles and knows how a busy workshop operates.
You’ll ideally have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar motor trade role
- Strong knowledge of vehicles, parts, servicing and mechanical repairs
- Ex-mechanics are very welcome to apply
- Previous customer-facing experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in a straightforward language
- A professional, helpful, and approachable manner
- A positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
- Excellent organisation and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A willingness to learn and adapt
- Computer literacy (full training on our systems provided)
- English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
- A full UK driving licence
