We are seeking three Consultants to join our friendly, forward-thinking and supportive Histopathology Department as we complete our substantive consultant workforce.
RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE £10k plus Relocation
We are particularly keen to attract Consultants with a specialist interest in
Breast Pathology, including experience of breast screening services
Skin/Dermatopathology
Broad general histopathology expertise and a commitment to high-quality diagnostic services

We are the lead laboratory within a developing digital pathology network that includes Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.

We provide a comprehensive histopathology and non-gynaecological cytopathology service, reporting a broad range of surgical pathology specimens and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, governance, audit and education.
We welcome special interests that complement and strengthen current services, particularly in:
- Breast pathology
- Skin pathology
- Cancer reporting
- Cytopathology
- Digital pathology innovation

About the department
Our department currently comprises three substantive consultants and is expanding to establish a full complement of six consultant cellular pathologists.
The service benefits from:
- Approximately 15,000-20,000 histopathology specimens annually
- Comprehensive histology and cytology services
- Strong biomedical scientist support
- Digital pathology capability across the network

- Participation in breast, bowel and cervical screening programmes

Applicants must hold:
- GMC Specialist Registration (or be within six months of obtaining CCT)
- FRCPath or equivalent
- Broad experience in histopathology and diagnostic cytopathology
- We are particularly interested in candidates able to provide leadership and service development in Breast Pathology and Skin Pathology.
