The Role
The role focuses on promoting independence, recovery, and well-being, while ensuring a safe and supportive living environment through positive behaviour support. We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Mental Health Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Gloucester. You will provide meaningful, day-to-day support to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health and complex care needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and engage in their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer emotional, practical & person centred support tailored to individual needs
- Support with daily activities including meal preparation and medication
- Encourage independence and positive routines
- Build trusting relationships with individuals and support networks
- Assist with community involvement, appointments, and recreational activities
- Accurately maintain records and contribute to support planning
- Work collaboratively with professionals, families and colleagues
- Promote dignity and respect
- Ensure the supported living environment is safe, clean, and secure at all times.
What We're Looking For
- Compassionate, empathetic, resilient and supportive.
- Generally driven with a passion to support individuals with Mental health needs
- Experience in health and social care (preferred, but not essential – full training provided)
- The ability to be empathetic, respectful, resilient and supportive
- Excellent communication and ability to work well as part of a team
- Shift flexibility, shift patterns will form part of a rolling rota that includes day, evening and weekend shifts
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
