Duties
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that cover singing, acting, dance, and stage presence tailored to different skill levels
- Lead rehearsals for school or community productions, guiding students through choreography, vocal techniques, and character development
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and collaboration among students
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- Organize and coordinate performances, ensuring students are well-prepared for live shows
- Collaborate with other educators and production staff to create cohesive performance experiences
- Maintain a safe and supportive space where students feel confident to express themselves through musical theatre
Skills
- Proven experience teaching or directing musical theatre or related performing arts disciplines
- Strong knowledge of vocal techniques, acting methods, dance styles, and stagecraft
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to choreograph routines and teach dance fundamentals effectively
- Creative mindset with the ability to design engaging lessons that cater to various learning styles
- Organizational skills to manage rehearsals, performances, and student progress efficiently
- Passion for musical theatre combined with a lively, energetic teaching style that energizes students and audiences alike
