Duties
- Prepare and level ground surfaces according to project specifications, ensuring proper drainage and stability
- Operate machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and compactors safely and efficiently to move earth and materials
- Assist with the installation of foundations, drainage systems, and utility trenches with precision
- Conduct site inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain quality control
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks, follow plans, and meet project deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and equipment operated throughout each shift
- Support site cleanup and organization to promote a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in groundworks or related construction roles is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued
- Ability to operate construction machinery safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Good communication skills to work seamlessly within a team environment
- Attention to detail for precise measurements, leveling, and material handling
- Basic knowledge of reading construction plans or blueprints is a plus
