Purpose of the Job
To be an integral part of the Key Stage 2 department, providing inspirational leadership, guidance and support to colleagues and students. To contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning, promoting high standards, raising student attainment and effectively monitoring and evaluating progress.
To create a secure, challenging and motivating learning environment in which all students are supported to achieve their full potential, and to ensure that the Key Stage 2 curriculum is appropriate, engaging and responsive to individual needs, providing suitable support, stretch and challenge for all learners.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold the vision and ethos of the subject which aims to secure attainment and progress by students and also reflects the school’s vision and ethos.
- Devise schemes of work with the team that ensure coverage, continuity and progression for all students, including those with more individual complex needs.
- Implement school wide policies for assessing, recording and reporting students’ attainment and for using the outcomes to inform the subsequent planning and teaching of the subject.
- Support the moderation of learning process.
