We are looking for a motivated and experienced Veterinary Equipment Service Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background who enjoys working independently, solving problems and providing an excellent level of customer service. You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, calibration and repair of a wide range of veterinary medical equipment across practices throughout the South East.
Working remotely, you will manage your own schedule while being supported by our wider service and operations team. You will play an important role in ensuring our customers have reliable, safe and fully operational equipment, helping veterinary teams provide the best possible care to their patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, calibration, testing and repairs on a range of veterinary equipment.
- Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions, either remotely or during customer site visits.
- Install and commission new veterinary equipment at customer sites.
- Complete electrical, mechanical and functional safety checks in line with manufacturer requirements and relevant standards.
- Provide telephone and remote technical support to customers and assist with troubleshooting where appropriate.
- Carry out site assessments and risk assessments prior to and during installations and service visits.
- Ensure all service work is accurately documented, including service reports, inspection results, parts used and recommendations for further work.
- Keep customer, equipment and service records fully up to date using our digital service management system.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing advice on equipment operation, maintenance and safe use.
- Identify additional repair, replacement or service requirements and communicate these to the relevant internal team.
- Work closely with the Service and Sales teams to ensure customers receive a seamless service.
- Maintain a high standard of organisation, ensuring jobs are prepared for in advance and paperwork is completed promptly following each visit.
- Keep up to date with new equipment, technologies, manufacturer requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Participate in an on-call rota as required.

- X-ray and dental X-ray systems
- Digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR)

- Patient monitoring equipment

- Sterilisers
- Infusion pumps
- Other specialist veterinary medical equipment
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, practical and confident working independently.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a medical, veterinary, laboratory or field service engineer.
- Experience servicing, repairing, installing or maintaining technical equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using digital service management systems, diagnostic software and remote support tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers.
- The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise multiple jobs and work effectively without direct supervision.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the South East.
Veterinary equipment experience would be highly desirable, but we are also happy to consider engineers from other relevant technical backgrounds who can demonstrate strong engineering, diagnostic and customer service skills.
