Newnham College wishes to recruit 2 HALL PORTERS on a full-time, permanent basis to join the busy Housekeeping team. Working alongside the cleaning staff, fitness is important as there is a large amount of manual handling and physical work involved in the job, however both women and men are encouraged to apply. The ability to problem-solve, be reliable and work well as part of the team are requirements for this role. In addition, a flexible, pro-active and positive approach are important qualities.
The annual salary is paid at point 26 on the University’s single salary spine, currently £26,320 per annum. Working full-time hours of 37.5 per week on a rota involving any 5 days out of 7 on a rotating basis. This normally works out as Monday to Friday and weekend working being rotated, but this role comes with the expectation of flexibility as during the busier months, more weekend working might be required and there will be more time off in the week to compensate.
