Summary
We are seeking a dedicated General Operative to join our team in Cannock. This role is vital in supporting our mission to recycle wood waste and contribute to environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to ensure efficient recycling processes at our facility.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain recycling machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist in the sorting and processing of recycled wood materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Support the team in meeting production targets.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve recycling procedures.
- Unload curtain side trailers when required to in a safe and efficient manner
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or environment is preferred but not essential.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic understanding of recycling processes is advantageous.
- FLT licence desired
Main Duties
- Housekeeping - maintaining the yard and storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
- Keep pathways clear of debris, snow, and ice.
- Clear debris from under and around machinery when required.
- Prepare and operate machinery in a safe manner, reporting any issues to the appropriate person as required. Complete pre-use checks and report defects as necessary.
- Maintain and improve environmental practice in the workplace.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
