Complex Care Support Worker
Location: Berwick-upon-Tweed
Pay: £16.15 per hour
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to support a 7-year-old girl with complex care needs in her family home.
The young person has FOXG1 Syndrome, epilepsy, visual impairment, dysphagia, and complex developmental needs. She requires support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, gastrostomy feeding, medication administration, moving and handling, and community access. Specialist equipment including hoists and adapted seating is used within the home.
Despite her complex needs, she is a happy child who enjoys sensory play, toys, and engaging activities. You will work as part of an established care team and alongside a supportive family and multidisciplinary professionals.

- Complex care experience
- Gastrostomy feeding experience
- Epilepsy awareness
- Moving and handling experience
- Previous experience in children's care, healthcare, SEN, or support work

Support is delivered across a team of care staff, therefore individual workers will be allocated shifts from the hours below.
Term Time (39 weeks per year)
- Up to 50 hours of support delivered per week
- 46 hours provided on a 1:1 basis
- 4 hours provided on a 2:1 basis
- Shifts available between:
- 6:45am - 8:45am
- 3:30pm - 7:30pm
- Monday to Sunday
School Holidays (13 weeks per year)
- Up to 68 hours of support delivered per week
- 56 hours provided on a 1:1 basis
- 12 hours provided on a 2:1 basis
- Shifts available between:
- 6:45am - 10:45am
- 3:30pm - 7:30pm
- Monday to Sunday
Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities are available, with hours agreed based on availability and the needs of the care package.
