Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Prior experience in care home settings or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medication management and health monitoring as required
- Help with meal preparation and light household chores to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, encouraging social interaction
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Follow individual care plans accurately to meet each client’s specific needs
- Maintain clear communication with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Document care activities accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation
- Good command of English language skills for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Strong communication skills, empathetic nature, and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and schedules
