Hays are working in partnership with a specialist engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Belfast. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced civil or structural engineer to work on challenging and rewarding projects across the UK and Ireland, investigating structural failures, deterioration issues, and complex engineering problems.
You will play a key role in delivering forensic investigations, structural assessments, monitoring programmes, and remedial solutions for a diverse client base, while working alongside highly experienced industry professionals.
Your new role
As a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer, you will:

Lead forensic engineering investigations into structural defects, failures, and deterioration

Carry out structural health monitoring, condition assessments, load testing, and remedial works

Conduct site inspections throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland, and the wider UK

Analyse technical data and develop practical engineering solutions

Produce clear, concise, and technically robust reports with recommendations

Liaise with clients, contractors, material manufacturers, and other engineering professionals

Support the delivery of high-quality specialist consultancy services
What you'll need to succeed:

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering

Proven experience within a civil or structural engineering consultancy environment

Strong technical assessment and problem-solving abilities

Excellent report writing and communication skills
-
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site inspections

Experience in forensic engineering would be advantageous, although candidates with a strong interest in developing within this specialist field are encouraged to apply
