Due to the continued growth and on boarding of new sites, Hegarty Property Management have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to work within the busy Accounts Team, based at our Northampton office.
Managing a residential portfolio across the midlands, you will be supporting the Head of Accounts.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Team Assistant;
- Assisting Property Team with preparation of the annual service charge budgets and forecasts, supplying breakdowns of costs and budget schedules.
- Reconciling service charge expenditure and income, working with the property team to ensure all expenditure is in the right schedules.
- Working with property managers to monitor spending against budgets.
- Producing year-end service charge accounts reports and other relevant reports for the external accountants to certify the accounts. Coordinating external audits where required.
- Liaising with the accountants on any queries they have, ensuring all balances and prepared to our format for approval by the RMC Directors.
- Liaising with the RMC Directors for their approval of signing off of the year end accounts.
- Managing client and owner accounting queries.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry guidelines (such as RICS Service Charge Professional Standards).
- Setting up the financial information on our system from handover received from previous agent / developer. Ensure all figures balance and closing balances are correct.
- Raising queries with previous agents / developers to obtain required information and documents.
- Providing excellent customer service.
Attributes;
- Experience within property accounting and/or service charge accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of service charge accounting principles
- Experience using property management software such as Qube or similar
- Accounting qualifications would be beneficial although not necessary, TPI qualifications would be a strong asset.
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills

Qualifications;
- GCSE Maths Grade c / 6 or above
- Good skills and understanding of Excel
