Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment, working alongside experienced chefs and management. The Commis will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of food production, maintaining high standards of food safety, and supporting the overall success of our culinary offerings.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support the team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards rigorously at all times
- Contribute to the presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
- Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods
- Support supervising staff in training and guiding junior team members when required
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership qualities in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or similar settings
- Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen environment
- Experience in restaurant service or serving roles is beneficial but not mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks efficiently
