About the Role:
FS Engineering provides bespoke fire-engineering manufacturing and specialist technical support from our facility in Upper Heyford. Rather than a standard high-pressure distribution center or heavy industrial site, our workplace focuses on specialized assembly, custom orders, and order preparation.
We are looking for a reliable Warehouse & Operations Assistant to join our team. This is a practical, varied role supporting day-to-day workshop logistics, stock control, order preparation, and occasional client site support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goods Inwards & Deliveries: Receiving incoming deliveries, checking shipments against paperwork, and logging items accurately into stock.
- Order Preparation & Packing: Carefully assembling components, packing items securely, and preparing specialist fire-engineering orders for dispatch.
- Workshop & Stock Maintenance: Keeping our workshop space safe, clean, and organized, alongside assisting with regular stock takes.
- Equipment & Tools: Operating basic workshop tools and equipment to prepare materials (full safety and equipment training provided).
- On-Site Client Support: Occasionally traveling to customer sites alongside team members to assist with equipment delivery or installation support.
What We Are Looking For:
- Valid CSCS Card (Required).
- Reliable work ethic with a practical, hands-on mindset.
- Physical capability to lift materials safely and stay active throughout the workday.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (confidence with Word/Excel is a welcome bonus).
- Practical background or basic mechanical/assembly knowledge (pipe-fitting or electrical experience is useful, but not essential).
- Willingness to learn—no previous specialist manufacturing or warehouse experience required as full on-the-job training is provided.
Location & Hours:
- Base Location: Upper Heyford (OX25).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Flexibility: Occasional short-notice site visits or overtime depending on project schedules.
Pay: £27,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
