Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing team at Holloways Travel as we expand with our new Brecon branch.
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and customer-focused Travel Consultant who enjoys working with people and has a genuine passion for travel.
You will work closely with customers to turn their holiday ideas into memorable experiences, from family beach holidays and cruises to touring, long-haul adventures, weddings, honeymoons and tailor-made trips.
At Holloways Travel, we pride ourselves on offering a personal and knowledgeable service. You will build relationships with customers, understand exactly what they are looking for and use our extensive range of tour operators and suppliers to find the right holiday for them.
Previous travel industry experience is preferred but not essential. However, a strong background in sales and customer service is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with customers and understand their holiday requirements, budgets and preferences.
- Create personalised holiday recommendations.
- Research and book flights, accommodation, cruises, tours, transfers, car hire, airport parking, lounges, excursions and other travel services.
- Deliver excellent customer service from the initial enquiry through to the customer returning home.
- Work towards individual and branch sales targets while always putting the customer first.
- Identify opportunities to offer additional services including travel insurance, foreign currency and holiday extras.
- Maintain accurate booking records and ensure all customer documentation is completed correctly.
- Assist customers with amendments, cancellations and any issues that may arise before or during travel.
- Keep up to date with destinations, suppliers, products, promotions and developments within the travel industry.
- Help create a welcoming, professional and engaging environment within the Holloways Travel Brecon branch.
- Support local marketing, social media activity, events and promotional opportunities.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong previous experience in sales and customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in dealing with customers face-to-face, by telephone and online.
- Ability to listen carefully and understand individual customer needs.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to sales and customer follow-up.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Genuine enthusiasm for travel and learning about new destinations.
Preferred Experience
- Previous travel agency, tour operator or wider travel industry experience.
- Experience using travel reservation or booking systems.
- Knowledge of cruise, package holidays, touring, long-haul or tailor-made travel.
- Previous experience working towards sales targets.

Pay: From £24,785.00 per year
