Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Staff Carer to provide high-quality care within a care home environment. The hours are 2130-0800, two shifts per week currently. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during the night shift. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support and assistance. The role requires excellent communication skills, organisational ability, and a caring demeanour to deliver personalised care plans effectively.
Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and record accurately
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs or emergencies using effective communication skills
- Document observations and any incidents during the shift in accordance with organisational procedures
- Support residents with activities that promote their wellbeing and independence
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals as required to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment within the care home setting
Skills
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Experience working within a care home or home care setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of creating, implementing, and following personalised care plans
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for clear communication with residents and team members
- Basic IT skills for recording documentation and updating resident records accurately
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities during overnight shifts
Pay: £13.00 per hour
