Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Store Person & Relief Driver to join our team. This role involves working in a coldstore environment, managing warehouse operations, stock control, and providing relief driving support to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management. The successful candidate will possess strong organisational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle materials efficiently. Duties
- Working in a Freezer Cold Store and warehouse.
- Operate forklifts safely for loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting and precise picking & packing tasks for shipping and receiving.
- Assist in the organisation of warehouse layout, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch or receipt.
- Provide holiday relief driving support by operating company vehicles in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks or troubleshooting related to warehouse equipment when necessary.
- Check temperatures of Cold Store, Blast Freezer and other freezers on arrival and record.
- Empty Blast Freezer and put away new stock rotating all old stock.
- Empty Waste Cage at beginning and end of each working day.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and improve workflow efficiency.
- Deliver any local orders in and around Huntly.
- Assist drivers in loading vans.
- Carry out cleaning chemical replenishment for operations as required.
- At all times promote Rizza's and their products by developing friendly relationships with customers.
- Deliver freezers to customers when required.
- Collect cash or cheques from customers while delivering orders where appropriate.
- Driver log book to be completed when covering delivery runs.
- Vehicle to be refueled each evening prior on return to depot.
- Vehicle to be cleaned weekly when covering relief drivers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or similar roles within a logistics environment.
- Valid forklift licence; experience operating other warehouse machinery is desirable. Training provided if not available.
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock handling activities.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate stock control and documentation.
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, including load & unload processes.
- Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record; previous experience as a relief driver preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
