Operations Manager – Aircraft Components
Position Summary
ORBITER AVIATION is looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our aircraft components warehouse in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for warehouse operations, inventory control, aircraft component handling, shipping, and team management, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, accuracy, and customer service.
The role will work closely with the MRO, Repair Management, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure the efficient movement and control of aircraft components.
Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the aircraft components warehouse.
- Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of aircraft components.
- Ensure correct identification and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, rejected, and customer-owned parts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and full traceability of aircraft components.
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with couriers and freight forwarders.
- Support urgent and AOG requirements when required.
- Manage, train, and develop warehouse personnel.
- Ensure warehouse activities comply with company procedures, Health & Safety requirements, and applicable aviation standards.
- Support internal and external audits and work closely with the Quality team.
- Monitor warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, productivity, and turnaround times.
- Identify and implement improvements to warehouse processes, efficiency, and workflow.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and update ERP/WMS systems.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure customer and business requirements are met.
- Ensure a clean, safe, organised, and professional warehouse environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, stores, or inventory management.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience within aviation, aerospace, aircraft components, or MRO is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of warehouse and inventory management processes.
- Experience using ERP/WMS systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of aircraft component handling, traceability, and aviation quality requirements is an advantage.
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations is desirable.
- Experience with international shipping, customs, or freight forwarding is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proactive, hands-on, and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: £38,749.26-£48,566.26 per year
