We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with modern commercial kitchen technology, including Rational Smart Cooking Systems, to deliver fast, efficient, and consistently high-quality food service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to meet high standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
- Manage food production schedules to ensure timely delivery of dishes during service hours.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently.
- Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and promote professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service delivery and optimise customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and menu pricing strategies to maximise profitability.
- Maximise the use of Rational Smart Cooking Centre technology to improve efficiency, consistency, food quality, and kitchen productivity.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and quality control.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management teams.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable; hospitality background preferred.
- A passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Experience working with Rational iCombi Pro, SelfCookingCenter, or similar intelligent cooking systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable ability to utilise Rational Smart Cooking technology to deliver high-volume, consistent food production while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Experience programming, managing, and optimising cooking processes to improve kitchen efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistency during busy service periods.
- Knowledge of modern kitchen technology and its application in fast-paced hospitality environments.
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
