We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Nursery Manager in delivering high-quality childcare services, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations of the nursery centre
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Supervise and support nursery staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a welcoming environment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to maintaining accurate records of children's progress and attendance
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent communication skills and childcare practices
- Support staff training programmes and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives
- Assist with organising nursery routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong understanding of childcare principles, early childhood education, and child development
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and organisational skills
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between nursery locations or community engagement activities
- A recognised qualification in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., Level 3 Childcare qualification) is preferred
- Passionate about working with children and committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment
Pay: £15.50-£16.50 per hour
