Job Title: Assistant Temporary Accommodation Manager
Pay: £24,000–£27,000 per year Job Type: Full-time, permanent Location: Newport / South Wales — travel required across multiple properties
Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, people-focused Assistant Temporary Accommodation Manager to support our Temporary Accommodation Manager across our council-contracted accommodation portfolio, housing close to 200 people across South Wales. This is a genuine stepping-stone role, with a clear path toward a full Temporary Accommodation Manager position as our portfolio continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Temporary Accommodation Manager across daily operations at our properties, covering a structured weekly schedule across all sites
- Act as a visible, independent point of contact for residents and on-site staff at each property
- Carry out regular property checks and liaise with the on-site security team, ensuring standards and safety are maintained
- Report issues, maintenance needs, or concerns promptly to the Temporary Accommodation Manager
- Support with day-to-day tenant queries and help maintain a safe, well-run environment across all properties
- Provide cover and continuity across the portfolio, including during the Temporary Accommodation Manager's absence
- Maintain accurate records and support compliance requirements linked to our council contracts
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in housing, supported accommodation, hostel management, or a similar people-facing operational role
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites and managing your own schedule
- Confident dealing with a variety of people and occasionally challenging situations, calmly and professionally
- Full UK driving licence (travel between properties required)
- Strong communication and reporting skills
